Dzonglha to Labouche: We woke up with our tent covered in snow.  The Sherpas came by to shake off our tent, it sounded it like a freight train around us as they Dzonglha to Labouchebeat our tent.  Soon two steaming cups of tea were presented to us, and another day in Nepal started.  The sun came out and melted off most of the snow in the valley and warmed up our tent. I caught up on some journal writing and even had pancakes in bed. It was a good morning and my stomach was feeling much better.  We got up and they tore down the camp site and we were off again on the trail.  Today was going to be a 4 hours hike to Labouche.  This will put us back on the main stream trekking route to Everest. The route we had taken was newly opened and was far more difficult that the other routes. The further we went on the trail the more people we saw.  It was kind of nice seeing other people again. However, we did not see many yak trains because we were coming off of the Cho La pass route, which was unyakable.

Shawna was feeling very tired and even though the route was one of the more easy routes, it took allot out of her.  Due to the snow she had worn her heavy winter climbing boots that were at least 5 pounds each. I believe it was the heavy boots that wore her out because she has had no problems up until today.  When we arrived in Labouche it was very disappointing.  The place was very dirty and congested with Yaks, horses and tons of people.  It was very cold and it started to snow.  Due to the snow and cold we are holed up in our tent so it have me time to catch up on my writing. ImageShawna is very cold and in not enjoying sitting in the cold tent for an entire day.  Without any sun for the last few days I have been unable to recharge my laptop and am getting very low on batteries.  The sun went down and made the night even colder.  We went to bed early trying to get to the following day sooner.  Tomorrow we off to our last stop before Everest base camp.  We hear base camp itself, which is very disappointing because it is just slag rock without a view of Everest.  We were told we had already experienced the best views we were going to have of Everest and its surrounding mountains.  We have made good time on the trip and have some extra time so we are thinking of climbing one of the near by mountains that have a view of base camp and the surrounding mountains to make the experience more enjoyable.
